Hello good friends,

I am not one to go to people with my troubles, as I am oft the one who is the one of whom burden is placed upon for those in need of aid. I would like to think that I am able to handle stress quite nicely, I am in a myriad of clubs, I plan on becoming the valevictorian, am vice-prez, and am doing the school play in about a week.

Unfortunately, my Mother insists on doubling and tripling the amount of stress I have.

My parents are separated, and honestly, I don't care. My Father is an asshole anyway. But my Mother, is of whom the one which I live with, is constantly yelling at me.

I have quite the weird way of dealing with stress. I usually go on my computer and watch videos, read comics, etc. I then get started on work, as soon as I have lost enough stress to deal with it. But she always just insists on coming in, or even yelling from the other room, for me to work. I am sorry, I just worked for eight hours, please let me have a moments rest. This has an adverse effect upon me however, as it adds much more stress then necessary, and as a result, I have to de-stress more. This in turn leads to her yelling at me more, rinse and repeat. I have attempted to explain it to her many a time, (as in 20, 30 times. I WISH I was kidding,) yet she has yet to acknowledge it. Whenever I say this to her, (mind you I am never yelling about it, at least at first) she yells at me more, saying that I am blaming her for all my problems, and at one point has blatantly told me I was wrong.

Please, help me, as I have been unable to properly de-stress and it is piling on, what should I do?

fuck her yelling. ignore her, and she will eventually get the picture. or yell at her, since that seems to be the most easy way of communicateing with her.

I have tried both. Neither work. Ignoring her leads to her just screaming louder, while yelling back has the same results, as she forces me to stoop to her level, and beats me with experience.

I have tried both in prolonged situations, yet neither work.

ignore her, don't stop telling her off, just remember that her words are irrelivant to your life. Don't let her get to you act like you do't see or hear her when shes around. Do't be afraid to defend yourself.
