Today my girlfriend, a friend and I are doing 2 presentations on the realities of being gay, at our college for 2 freshman classes. It should be interesting to say the least..

Yes, and how is it to be gay?

So far it has been fine, but I can only speak for myself... but it sucks being afraid to hold my girlfriend's hand in public or be closeted to certain people in certain circumstances.

Well gee kid, I don't know how to tell you this, but I'll just say it anyways. Many people don't like homosexuals, or look down upon them. This wouldn't be bad in itself, if it weren't for the fact that not being accepted or liked by others was considered a bad thing.

Well, obviously I'm aware of that, but what's the worst thing that can happen when you're walking through town holding your girlfriends hand? People give you weird looks, mostly people you'll never see again. So, why care?
