Have fun, the new auto window resizing seems pretty cool as well as the new Bluetooth file transfer stuff.

Haha, I love how they threw away Windows "Sidebar" hehe. It sucked ha

Enjoy!

The sidebar is an amazing feature. It gives me a place to keep my gadgets. Anyway, i wish people would stop talking about this like it is new. Gadgets have always been able to run on the desktop like they do in 7. They have done since the first version of Vista.

As for the talk of the windows 7 beta (note, not pre beta, current beta) and the vista UI in it, this is a registry change to get the new UI. It comes with the Vista one by default. Search the web on this one, lifehacker had an article explaining the change the other week.

Can you work out the code?

and also, there's a more recent build (6933). so this really is the pre-beta. or alpha i guess.

oh yeah. and i found that the sidebar was a memory hog and took up a good portion of my screen which is why i never used it, though the tools are handy.

Actually, can you find something out for me. I know gadgets are still in 7, but is the sidebar still an option? or some form of dockable view on the side for gadgets? I have a 3 monitor setup, so docking them is actually a nice feature for me. as i dont care for the space so much

I'm looking around and I'm not seeing anything like that. Sorry bro. But this version is pretty lean and mean I think. Maybe they'll throw it in as an option in later builds.

I expect they will leave it in as a policy editor option or a reg tweak at the very least... live in hope...

The Gadgets are movable around the screen, Various ones have the ability to increase in size for higher res, Altho there is no actual Sidebar option in Build 6801 there is the possiblity that it may be made available in future Builds and it is also worth noting that the Gadgets have the ability to align themselves at a certain distance from the side of the screen and if placed correctly could pretty much appear as if they where placed inside an invisable sidebar lol
