Most parents are annoying, most parents are frustrating even at the best of times but my Mother annoys the hell out of me sometimes. Why? Well, let me state this, me and my Mum are close, perhaps not as close as we used to be, but close. But there's just one aspect of her that frustrates me. What you ask? Her love life.

Oh. My. God. If you you live with a single parent perhaps you'll know what I mean. She never sticks with the same guy for more then a month or so because she's pretty fickle. And every time there's a new one it's, 'Oh, he's so perfect!' blah blah blah. It's so annoying. Plus, if you cringe when your parents cuddle and kiss then how do you think it feels when the guy whose doing it isn't not only your Dad but you hardly know him? At least when your parents cuddle you can think, "Awwh, they're happy". But I really don't give two shits about the random guy.

Yes, I sound bitter, yes, I sound selfish. But seriously, having your Mum behave like a teenager is so annoying and the fact they aren't considerate makes me angry. I live with my Mum and my girlfriend and me and my girlfriend are always considerate of my Mum. We try to be quiet when she's in bed and not to wake her. Apparently I don't deserve the same.

I know you guys probably think I'm being stupid and maybe I am but it's just annoying when someone your Mother has known barely a week is coming over every night and staying and generally taking over my Mum's life. Oh, and don't even get me started on the fact that they both smoke in the house... Urgh!

I don't have a single parent but I could see that being extremely annoying... especially since you and your girlfriend give her the respect that you want.

Have you ever talked to her about it?

Honestly, there's no point. She doesn't listen. I've spoken to my sister about it and she agrees with me. My sister is 27 though and doesn't live at home so it isn't much to do with her. I just like to think me and my girlfriend are respectful and it annoys me how he has to come over every fucking night. The start of relationships are meant to go slow, you're meant to miss them, not be with them every waking second.

My mum drives me insane with her pre-teen babble so I sympathize.

(I'm not close to my mum, but she likes to pretend we are)
