Ok so I'm 15 and I have to choose a car soon. My dad is a freak about safety so it has to be safe, but the plus side is he'll go semi-expensive. My brother got his car a few years ago it was a Volvo s40 about 28,000 when he bought it used. I'm looking for a car not a  jeep, SUV, or truck. (Good gas mileage is quite important too since I'm paying for my own gas.)

Fuck safety.

At 15, I have to say, you need something slow and very far from boy racer land. Go for an 08 civic Ex. Its got everything you could want, plus good gas miliage.

Or, you can be a dick, and buy something stupidly fast. Evo, STi, 350z, MS3, Si, GTi. Now's a great time to go fast for cheap.

At the very most for a new driver I would say don't go much more than 200bhp.

I'm in luck then.  I'm sporting a good 115 or so.

If gas millage is an issue, and daddy is paying for it, get a fucking Prius.

It may not be the most manly car, but seriously, if you are getting a free car, you really should be getting some sort of hybrid.

And don't buy a new civic, or even a recent one. Its not worth the money.

The current gen civs, are sweet.

Mazda 3 would also be a good buy.
