If gas millage is an issue, and daddy is paying for it, get a fucking Prius.  

It may not be the most manly car, but seriously, if you are getting a free car, you really should be getting some sort of hybrid.

You think you're oh so green until you realize that cobalts, civics, cavaliers, <insert honda vehicle here> are getting 5mpg less than a Prius (man they came a long way..) and if kept maintained, hardly pollutes anymore than a prius does. OMFG EVERYONE GO GREEN, DRIVE A PRIUS. lol, shut the fuck up.

You have to drive good, and work to get anywhere near the same millage that a Prius gets.

Ok, yes, the Prius is a little sissy. Get a different car. Hybrid.

OP said he has to pay for his own gas, so he might as well get something that will help him out in that area.

Please. Prius is fucking pointless. If you give a flying fuck about miles-per-gallon get diesel or a super light subcompact. The new '08 Jetta TDI diesel is safer, better built, more luxurious, and gets almost 15MPG on average better then Prius. Not to mention it will be more reliable. Prius becomes useless and worthless the second the batteries die.

Dont know about other parts of the country, but around here, diesel runs $0.75 more than premium. Kinda defeats the purpose.

The only way it even gets 40mpg is because toyota took all the weight out of it. shitty interior, etc etc etc

Pretty sure Top Gear blew it up for a reason, and they even accepted the new mustang gt.
