Many MANY religions insist that god is perfect, and yet the ultimate good. if perfect represents all-encompassing, than isn't God evil as well? and insane? and immoral? in some instances.

If so, the devil cant exist, because the opposite of god would be nothingness.

nope.
Evil = complete lack of good
Insane = complete lack of sanity
immoral = complete lack of morality

These features would be negative qualities of God and would make him less perfect and, indeed, contradictory as well.

Justify your assertion by explaining the role that a devil has in the Jewish religion, and then go on to explain how the Christian God fills that role in a way that makes any sort of coherent theological sense.

Go.

Perfect doesn't "represent all-encompassing." Perfection is without flaw. If you see evil as a flaw, then evil is incompatible with perfection. To be everything is not to be perfect. To be everything necessary for perfection is to be perfect.

Why bother with the "many, many religions" nonsense if you follow it up with some nonsense about the devil? We all know that at most, you're talking three to four religions (four only if you consider Mormonism to be a separate religious tradition).

Besides, within the context of the religions you're talking about, the Devil isn't the opposite of God. The opposite of God would need to be an all-powerful, all-knowing and wholly evil being. The Abrahamic religions do not believe the Devil is that.
