So a little earlier, some genius spilled coke all over the keyboard. I wiped it all off and used a ruler and a teatowel to get between the keys but obviously it's impossible to do it perfectly.

Now the y key keeps coming up as ny, and the space bar's dodgy.

I think we can all guess what's caused that can't we...

Any ideas?

Use the onscreen keyboard, until you can get a new one. There is probably circuit board failure.

Put it face-down overnight.  It probably just has to dry.

You should be able to pop them out with the help of a screw driver or something skinny and then clean it

You can was your keyboard in the dishwasher. I did it, the guide was in PCFORMAT. All you need to do is wash it in water and let it dry for a while.

I suggest buying a new keyboard buuuut maybe put it near a fan and let it dry more or better yet clean it off with some soap and water because maybe it's still sticky.

Tip it over, let it dry.

Pop the keys off that are sticky, and clean those.

I have a similar thread going, I spilled juice on mine. Its a pain in the ass.

Unplug it right away, take it apart, carefully wash it, then let it dry.  Electronic components only get damaged from moisture when there's power going through them.  If you unplug it and wash it out, you can probably save it.  Otherwise, the acid will from the soda will mess things up and the sticky sugar will be no fun.

You can pop the keys off, carefully, and clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Or buy a new keyboard.
