it keeps making a clicking noise. It's a desk lamp. Any way to stop the clicking. It's annoying! Thanks!

That's the spring-like wire (filament) inside the bulb expanding and contracting. It's probably ready to blow out, so change the bulb. If it's too bright, you might be using a bulb that's too hot for the lamp.

Could it be a florescent light? if so it sounds like the starter or ballast and can be fixed if it's worth fixing that is. I would just live with it until it finally craps out if it were me because it more than likely isn't worth repairing.

replace the bulb - maybe get it checked as it could shock u. if its clicking tis possible the little wire in the top that spans accross these two other little wires like this --> l-l is broken.

If the tube is going then it wont be the starter, Could be a faulting ballast but that would more likely buzz loudly than click. I would say if its a normal light bulb that the pins on the lamp arnt making proper conection with the light fitting and it is arcing
