Kameron, Tyler, Jamie, T.J., and Q.J. are standing on the bus stop waiting for the bus. "The school year is finally here," Jamie said. "The only reason why your happy is because of your baby, Alexa," T.J. said, teasing Jamie. "How many times must I say we are not serious?" Jamie said. "The way your always tugging on her skrit seems like you're serious," Q.J. said. "Look, Quinton James...," "It's Q.J." Q.J. said, walking on the other side of Kameron. "Look, we are freshmen now we have to start acting like it," Kameron said. "Well, We didn't realize that we were being little kids," Jamie said. "Kam, can you walk me to class?" Tyler asked. "No. Your 13 it's time to walk on your two feet," Kameron said. The bus pulls up and stops in front of them.
They enter the bus and take their seats near each other. "So, do you think that Jake is going show up this year?"Jamie asked. "Um.., Subject change please," Kameron said. "Why? Are we bringing up unwanted memories?" T.J. asked, teasing. "Look, we decided to just leave each other alone and I'm okay with that. Now, can we please change the subject?" Kameron said. "Someone has a bit of a temper," Tyler said. "Look, if someone doesn't change the subject I swear---," Kameron's sentence is cut short by the buses jerked motion.
The bus doors open and Jake steps on the bus. Kameron takes a quick glance at him and his heart drops. From Grade 2 they had been friends but as growing up hits you things change. How could the two of them be friends agian after what happened at his 12th birthday party. The kiss kept playing back in Kameron's mind although no one found out about the kiss they did wonder why all the sudden nethier of them were speaking to each other. A plump in his seat knocks Kameron out of his deep thought. It was Skylar a new friend of his. They met over the summer and became close friends and since then has kept his life sane.
"I know you seen Jake get on?" Skylar said. "Why does everyone think that I'm thinking about Jake? Well, news flash everyone I'm not so can we just leave the past in the past," Kameron said. "We're all just wondering what happened between you two to make the group break up," Q.J. said. "Maybe in a few years I'll tell you," Kameron said, turning his face towards the window. The bus finally appoaches the school and everyone gets off the bus. Kameron walks to his locker and enters his combination. He opens the door and drops his books.
He goes to pick them up and a hand picks them up. He looks up and sees Jake holding his books. "Can I get my books back?" Kameron said, annoyed. "Can we talk?" Jake asked back. "About?" Kameron forced out. "After your birthday party three years ago, you never talked to me agian. And I just wanted to know what it is that I did wrong," Jake asked. "Well, let's see could it be the kiss that you forced on me. Or maybe it's the theapy that I had to endure when my mom found out why I was acting so strange. Or could it be the verbal abuse I got from my own family. You pick!" Kameron said, slamming his locker. "Look, you chose to kick me out of your life not me or else I could have went through that with you," Jake said. "Well, I did and don't just think that because your back after three years I'm gonna let you back in cause I'm not," Kameron said. "So that's it your gonna just let me go after 12 years of friendship?" Jake asked. "Maybe," Kameron said. "Kameron, help!" A voice yelled. Kameron runs down the hall and sees a guy beating up his brother. He grabs the guy by his shirt and throws him on the floor. "Stay on the floor," Kameron said. He picks his brother up and fixes his hair. "What happened?" Kameron asked. "Nothing. I just walked into the classroom and he walked up to me and pushed me and then I tackled him," Tyler said, hiding behind his brother. A teacher fights through the crowd and the crowd runs away. "Kameron and Tyler why am I not surprised," She said. "Look, Ms. Bromwell I had nothing to do with this," Kameron said. "And I didn't start it," Tyler said, adding his plea behind Kameron's. "Come on, you two are in high school and your still fighting," Ms. Bromwell said. "Did we not just say that we had nothing to do with it?" Kameron said. "Yeah, well you can tell that to the principal," Ms. Bromwell said. They walk down to the principal's office and await their punishment.

Kameron said nothing to Tyler on the way home. He was so upset that he got in trouble on his first day. Tyler could believe that Kameron didn't believe him. After all they were brother why would he proposely get him into trouble on his frist day. "Kameron," Tyler said, slowly. "Don't talk to me," Kameron said, upset. "It wasn't my fault," Tyler said. "Well, if you weren't such a punk maybe you could fight back," Kameron said. "Kameron, you suppose I start fights and get supsended like the other guy?" Tyler said. Kameron releases a big sigh. "Look, just watch out for yourself it's bad enough at home we don't need school trouble added to it," Kameron said. Tyler nods and they enter their house.
As usual their mom was holding a glass of whiskey in her hand and waiting on the couch for them. "Welcome home," She said, drunk out of her mind. "Hi, Mom," Kameron said. She looks at Tyler as he turns his head. "No answer from you, little boy," She said. "I told you he doesn't respect you when your drunk," Kameron said. She stands up and Kameron slides Tyler behind him. "Doesn't respect me," She said, shocked. She throws the glass at the wall and it shatters everywhere. "I didn't ask for his respect I ask him to speak to me," She said, getting anger. She takes a few steps closer and Kameron steps back along with Tyler. "Not another step," Kameron said. "Not another step. Do you think that's going to change anything?" She said. She steps in Kameron's face and slaps him. "I hate what you've done with my little boy," She said. "What I've done? You've been beating him and me and you've been drinking non-stop and I'm the one who changed your little boy," Kameron said, shocked. "Mom, your destorying yourself and we need you," Tyler said, shyly. She pushes Kameron out the way and he hits his head on the wall knocking him unconscious. She grabs Tyler by his shirt and slams him agianst the wall. "If I wanted to know what was wrong with me I would have asked you?" She yelled. Tyler crawls over to Kameron and starts to shake him. "Kameron, wake up," Tyler said, crying.
The more he cried and pleaded they more entertained their mother looked. Kameron finally comes to and sees Tyler crying. "Ty, what's wrong," He asked. "Oh, he got to meet the wall today. And judging for the tears I would say their best friends," She said, laughing. Kameron grabs his brother and they run upstairs. Kameron puts Tyler in his room and tells him not to come out until he says and he closes the door behind him. Then, he walks into his room and and slams his door but his mom brust through the door. Kameron backs into the wall behind him and his mom gets into his face. She sticks her hand down his pants and Kameron throws her hand away. "Oh, now you throw my hand away. When you were little you used to love when I did things to you," She said. "No, I didn't you just think I did," Kameron said. "Wow, the age 15 is making your will very strong," She said, rubbing his face. "No, I just finally starting to realize that we don't need you," Kameron said, furiously. She knees him in the stomach as Kameron groans and falls to his knees. "You may not need me but little Tyler does and the more you age the more you get closer to leaving and when Tyler's all by himself I'm going to do such terrible thing to him," She said, laughing. She leaves his room and Kameron breaks down in tears. Most of the time he can handle his mom's abusive behavior but sometimes the tears burst through his eyes. The rest of the day Kameron and Tyler sat on their beds quiet as a mouse as they await the next day to go to school.

Chapter 2: Nothing Like 90210
The Tuesday morning sunshine shined into Kameron's room to awaken him. He smiles because the second day of school is when the cool people started to be established and he knew that the earlier it happened the cooler you were. It took one important thing to even get noticed by cool people... a car. Kameron would not show up to school today without a car under him. He remembered that his dad had left him a 2008 Converible Mustang for his 14th birthday and he knew where the keys were. He quickly gets dressed and runs downstairs to grab the keys but they weren't where they normally were. "Looking for these?" His mom said, daggling the keys in her hand. ""Yeah. Thanks," Kameron said, reaching for them. But she pulls the keys back and folds her arms. "I don't remember you asking if you could use the car," She said. "Hello, Dad left me that car for me and only me," Kameron said. "Well, I don't want you using it," She said. "Too bad," Kameron said. He grabs the second pair of hidden keys from behind the TV and smiles. "Tyler, hurry up!" Kameron shouted. Tyler walks downstairs wearing an open vest with no bottom shirt exposing his bare chest and six pack and some demin pants. Kameron was in shock because he had never saw Tyler go all out. "Wow, Tyler now the ladies will be all over you," Kameron said, laughing. "I don't like it. Go upstairs and change," His mom said. "Come on, Mom, this is the first time he doesn't look dorky let him wear it," Kameron said. "No, I brought him decent clothes to wear and he'll wear that," She protested. "Mom, he's getting picked on at school and his clothes are the reason why. People think he's a punk let him be cool for at least a day," Kameron pleaded. "I don't care what people think he'll wear the clothes I paid for," She demeaned. "It's bad enough that you don't," "That's because Dad understands the words high and school," Kameron said, laughing. "He can wear it today," She said. Kameron grabs Tyler's contacts from off the counter and they run to the car.

They arrive at Kelvin with everyone staring at them. Kameron was loving the attention and craving to be popular. He shuts the engine off and gets out the car. Tyler steps out and is approached by the coolest guy in his class, Ryan McDaniel. He was kicked out of 3 high schools and was thrown in juvi so many times if you tried to count it your head would explode. "Hey, nice threads," He said. "Wanna walk to class with me and my crew?" "Kameron, can I?" Tyler asked. "Go ahead," Kameron said. He watches his brother walk away in style and is jumped on by T.J. "Was that your brother that just walked away?" He asked. "Yeah. He dressed straight to impress," Kameron said, basking the glowing of the proudness of his brother. T.J. looks behind Kameron and sees the car. "Is that a 2008 Converitble Mustang with the Hemi Engine and Automatic Reverse Option?" He asked in shock. "Yeah, I had to fight to get in here," Kameron said. "Man, if this doesn't get you cool I don't know what will," T.J. said, laughing.  Alexa and Alyssa walk up to Kameron. "Well, it seems that he finally got to drive his beauty to school," Alexa said. "Yeah, well," Kameron said. "Has anybody seen Jake I wanna rub my car in his face," Kameron said, smiling. "I think he's in his truck with...," "Thanks, bye guys," Kameron said, walking away. "He's in for a rude awakening," Alexa said. Kameron walks around the lot and finally sees the blue Elise. He looks at a distance and sees Jake with his head laying on the headrest. "Just like him to fall asleep in his car. Jake, wake up!" Kameron yelled. Jake pops up and sees Kameron laughing at him. Kameron sees Jake tap below him and a girl with long curly red hair pops up and kisses his cheek while Kameron turns around. "Why do I feel like I stepped into some weird TV show?" Kameron said. He catches up with his friends and they walk into the school.
At his locker, Kameron is getting some stuff out his locker when Jake walks up to with his girl from the car. "Hey, Kameron," Jake said. "Hey, Jake," Kameron said. "Hi, I'm Carmen, Jake's girlfriend, Jakey here has told me so much about," Carmen said, sticking out her hand. "Kameron," Kameron said, shaking her hand. "Is it true that you two used to be a couple until you were 12?" She asked. "No. I haven't nor will I ever date Jake," Kameron said. "Good more for me," She said, kissing him in Kameron's face. Though he wasn't jealous, he wanted to hit Carmen upside the head with a brick
