Is it a good job? a good career?

Do you know someone who does it? Do they like it? How's their life? Would they quit?

What are some pros and cons that you would find in this field.

What do you think are some requirements a flight attendant must have?

How much does a flight attendant earn?

Can you link me to pages that are relevant to this subject?

Please. Tell me anything about it.
Don't post if you have no idea or don't know anyone in this field.
I'm thinking about doing this for a life. It's not a joke. I need to know of other perspectives before committing myself. Thanks. Please!

Well. being a flight attendant wouldn't allow you to have a social life because you are constantly on the go. When you arent on a plane you are asleep.

You are not actually on call every day. You get to have 2 weeks free sometimes. Depends on your flying schedule. Yeah, the social life might not be the normal one but there id social life in the planr with coworkers and when you arrive home for extend period of time. If you work at a national level then you don't spend many days away... it's mostly if you are international but again you get weeks off after a while.

Also, if you are a traveler and have strong friendships the fact that you are away for a while doesn't mean your social life will die cuz you always come back. It's complicated yet not impossible.

And the thing you say about being asleep, also depends on your destination. Some get to travel while they are away and don't actually sleep all day.

One of my ex's, his mom worked as a flight attended. I'm not sure if she just worked for a crappy airline or what, but they were always strapped for cash (it was his mom, his sister, him, and they lived in a two bedroom house). Perhaps she was just tight with money, I dunno, but I do know that they had credit problems and that his mom would avoid calls from the banks because she owed them money, so that made me think that she didn't get paid very well. Perhaps she was just a shitty worker though, I dunno.

In theory, I think the job sounds exciting. I love to travel, and you can get cheap or free travel for yourself, family, and friends.

It does sound hard though, because sometimes you can do a turn-around flight (fly somewhere, just stay overnight, then fly right back). Plus some of these flights are long, and people can get really cranky on flights (especially international flights!).

So when you're happy (Hurray!), or sad (Aw!),
Or frightened (Eeek!), or mad (Rats!)
An interjection starts a sentence right.

Well as far as I know they get paid 13 to 26+ $ according to how good they are, their experience, the type of flight, etc. Considering this I don't think it can be paid that bad. She probably didn't know how to handle her money. They even get hotels, rides... and sometimes even paid by the time they are separated from their families. Therefore I don't think money would be bad, and you could always improve.

I also know that the flights vary from a national to an international level and that after a couple of years you can make your schedule according to what you want/need if you negotiate with your coworkers.

I love traveling too. I'm also a very loving person towards my family and friends therefore I know I'll miss them but there's the fact that they can get 0ne or 2 weeks free after being in long distance flights or tiring schedules. Therefore, I don't think I'd be alone a lot and there's always phones, emails.. I mean I could take my laptop with me and I'm sure that hotels and the areas dedicated to the plane staff have internet. So staying in touch wouldn't be an issues.

It's a hard job because of the amount of work and all but it seems worth it and exciting. I know people get mad and all but I'm good at things like that. I think I have good costumer service abilities and know how to deal with those circumstances
