I think it should be taught in history and literature. But not like religious ed, more like the way Greek myths(for example) are analyzed.

What are some good reasons religion should not be allowed in public schools and for those opposed some good reasons why it should.

What do you mean by "religion being allowed in public schools?" Do you mean no one should be allowed to express any religious opinion/belief/etc. at all in public schools? Do you mean that public schools should not endorse specific religions? Do you mean that public schools should not offer unbiased education about religions?

Letting kids follow a religion and teaching them about other religions is fine, the problem is when your taught that you have to believe in a certain religion, such as having christian prayers said over the intercom and such.

It shoud be unbiased but religion shouldn't be forced in. The term "religion being allowed in schools" is something a person of faith that is trying to push it upon the system would say. It shouldn't be endorsed it should jsut be presented as a field of study like for example a course called 'world religions', like what I took last year.

That's not quite what I was asking, and you're not the one I was asking.

in the fifties and before when we had religion in schools we didn't have as many drug users, alchoholics, teen pregnancies, etc. that's why.

Actually there was plenty of teen pregnancies. Alcoholics have just about always been around. THe government had to make it legal again, because people were killing each other for a few beers. Drug use though came more out in the 60s...at least more open about it.

I'm going to have to disagree with it being taught in history. Literature, is iffy. Though a religious studies class could work, as long as the teachers leave bias out of the picture.

religion shouldn't be taught in public schools. with all the different religious and non-religious students in school it would be biased to teach a certain religion and can be offensive to those that are not that religion.

why is that?

Evolution isn't a religion. It's a scientific theory. Shogun has demonstrated on numerous occasions that he does not know this.
