It's been a complete nightmare so far and I feel like I'm wasting my time and money. It's got me so stressed out right now that I'm feeling that urge to just say to hell with it and quit going.

First off, I have to work 30-40 hours a week to afford to go there. That isn't helping. Because I work I'm only getting about 2-3 hours of free time a day for school work. As of right  now I'm failing in 2 of my classes because I'm so exhausted I rather end up missing them or end up falling asleep in them, and I'm getting close to failing in another class. I try my hardest to study and keep up, but it just isn't happening. I've gotten F's on all but 1 of my midterms.

I just don't get it. My parents are yelling at me because they think I'm slacking, my friends think I'm just trying to find an excuse for my bad grades, and my female interest thinks I'm just acting stupid about it.

Honestly, I'm pretty much flattened at this point. I can't even break even on cash, I have no free time, and I'm working my ass off at my job and school for almost no benefit. I just can't seem to justify me even going at this point. I'm going to get almost no credits for this semester, and I'll only have to pay more later on to take these classes again. I feel like I'm the verge of a stress related breakdown right now.

I know how you feel. Your situation is worse than most but everyone feels crushed at some point.

Could you go part time instead?

Why do you need a full time job? I mean...what's your financial situation looking like?

I'm pretty much forced to work full time. I have to pay for roughly 2/3 of my tuition, plus car payments, insurance, and other normal expenses. I pay about 3K a semester plus all the money for books and supplies. Considering I'm only making $800 or so a month I just don't have an alternative.

Wow...there's no way around that? Loans? Scholarships? Work study?

Is there any way you could go to school part time then? Just take it slower? If you feel yourself getting bogged down, you could always go a semester...then withdraw...then just work, save up money...then go back a semester... Eh, but that'd mean you'd have to either quit your job during school or, ooh, take a leave if you can. I know a guy who works at Kmart and he's on leave now so when he goes back on break for two weeks, he'll go right back to work then go back on leave again when it's over.

Sadly that figure is after my scholarships and loans. I wish I could go part time to school, but then I lose some scholarship money, so it's really not helping the problem out.

I feel like I'm stuck playing a game that I know I can't win, yet the only other alternative is to just give up which isn't much of an option either.

Have you spoken to your advisor about this? He/she may be able to help you out.

Sorry I'm not much help, I'm trying to think of some advice I could give you.

You could always attempt to transfer to a cheaper school, maybe even a community college if you're still a first year or second year. It'd save you money and then you could transfer back into this school or maybe even another. Instead of giving up, you could always go somewhere else.

Or, you could take out a loan at a bank or what have you. The interest rate will be higher but you won't have to worry about paying the money off now and could, instead, work part time during school and save as much money as you can and then work full time or two part time jobs over the summer.
