My take on this, and this is just from personal observation is in the US, these types of certificates are becoming more and more common and that degrades their value. Especially since the skills they touch on are becoming more and more well known. There are people you will compete with that have been in the business for way too long. I would not look to these as a quick way to finish school and get paid a lot, but as a way to get you a foot in the door.
Just like internet fly by nights, the time for certificates is becoming less and less appealing.
