I just got a new laptop today and I want to put all the music that is on my old computer(and ipod) onto it. If I just download itunes onto the new laptop and plug in my ipod will all the songs go on? If not, how else can I get them all on?

Usually your iPod will synchronize with iTunes, so syncing with it can only get the music on your iPod deleted. Depending on your settings within iTunes, you will have to copy all of your music from one computer to another. Once you have done that, get iTunes on your laptop to open all of those music files to create a new list of music. I guess it comes down to transferring just the music files.

No, you cannot transfer your music from your iPod to your laptop through iTunes. There are software applications that let you do this in both Windows and OS X, but if you have more music than can fit on your iPod it certainly isn't very practical.

The simplest way to do this is either transfer your music onto a portable harddrive and then copy it back from that (you can use your iPod for this too if it supports being mounted as a mass storage device - and provided you have enough space for all the music - through Windows). You could also connect the two computers together and create an Ethernet network, or if your house has wireless Internet then just turn on Windows file sharing for the music folder and copy it across to your new laptop (this process can be very slow depending on the type of wireless connection you have and how far it is from the router).
