I suffer from extreme anxiety, but that is a result of a learning difficulty and not because I have an anxiety disorder.

Have taken fluoxetine for that and depression but that had little effect. Am currently trying Citalopram. I also use Propranolol (a beta blocker) for short term relief over exams or whatever.

Ocd and Panic attacks! I have had them for years. When I was in first grade I hyperventilated because I was worried that I would miss the bus... everyday.

Severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder with Bipolar Disorder. For anxiety I take clonazepam (Klonopin) and it works well when I don't have a massive tolerance to it. So I have to take breaks in using it so it will still work. SSRI's did nothing.

I have really bad anxiety mostly having to do with my fear of death. (Thinking I have some type of medical condition that will kill me.) I also get panic attacks and can't be around too many people for too long.

I don't take anything, I'm too scared to because of my anxiety. Ironic?

Hey!
Welcome to LW :]
I'm sure there's several people on this board who know a lot about Anxiety disorders and have been through or still go through them on a daily basis. Yup, I have had a past of extreme anxiety and panic attacks. Right now, I'm less anxious than I have been in my whole life, and it's a pretty good feeling... even though the anxiety is still there.

No, none of the medication worked for me. But I did some biofeedback therapy for awhile which helped me focus on what triggered my panic attacks and anxious feelings. It really helped me a lot. Plus, I did a lot of regular talk therapy with a counselor, and she helped me practice some serious phobias I had.

I don't really know if there's anything that can make that scared, worried feeling go away forever. But things can get better! So good luck. :]

I have social anxiety and the doctor never really told me an official diagnosis.  But I have constant ansiety and occasional panic attacks, and stomach problems from some form of anxiety/panic disorder.

I am taking Lexapro for it right now but it isn't working as well as I hoped.  I still feel nervous, selfconcious, and have a hard time talking to people.  My physical symptoms are coming back too.  I am hoping they will put me on an actual antianxiety pill in stead of a low dose antidepressant.
