I'm 14, and getting money is THE HARDEST THING EVER.......
Nobody hires 14 year olds, and in most places,
16 is the age......
I live in New Jersey, and I just really need to stop asking my family for money, I wanna start working,
It'll be good experience and,
if I start saving now, I can have a Car by my Senior year ;) Any help?

Hah, I wish I could ask my mom for money.

I'm in the same predicament, but, hustling is good for cash. That's where I get mine.

I don't think you can get one now.  It's not legal.

It's perfectly legal in just about all states.  Thing is, there's just so many restrictions for 14 and 15 year old employees that it's simply not worth it.

In Washington state, they can't work more than 3 hours on school days, and no more than 16 hours during school weeks, and must be clocked out by 7 pm at the latest on school nights, and 9 pm on non-school nights.  In just about all states, they can't handle any kind of machinery (meaning ovens, fryers, or even microwaves).  If they work at a fastfood place, the most they can do is work the cash register, clean the counter tops, and that's about it.

Why put up with all the silly restrictions when you can just hire somebody older?  That's what most employers think and why it's near impossible for those at 14 and 15 to get a steady part time job (it's already tough enough for those at 16 and 17).  When you're under 16, your best bet for work is odd jobs kept away from the eyes of the government, like babysitting, mowing peoples' yards, painting houses, etc.

I'm in the same boat....kinda.  My parents won't let me get a job because they want me to focus on school.  Lame!

But, they do let me work online in my spare time in between classes.  So, instead of getting a weekly or biweekly check, I get a monthly check.

Oh well, it's better than nothing,  I guess.
