buy a cell phone from one dealer and switch it to your service provider? like, if i buy a t mobile phone or something but i have cricket is there anyway i can switch it to cricket service? im guessing theres prob a fee, but in the long run itd be cheaper cause cricket phones are pieces of expensive crap......

If it does use a sim card, you can "unlock" a phone to switch to your provider.  You can probably find out how to do it, but a lot of times it's better to have a professional do it.

I just recently did that with my phone.  It's a T-Mobile phone but I have ATT.

Cricket uses CDMA technology not GSM so it'd have to be an Alltel, Verizon, or Sprint phone.

This. Cricket flashes phones to be used on their network.
