I understand what you are going through, I lost my step-mom six months ago. She passed away after battling cancer for years. It hurts now like it hurt then, I was closer to her than I was to my own mom. I'd known her my whole life and we could talk about anything. She was the most down to earth, beautiful person I have ever known. But she and my dad taught us that it is only the body that dies. She is still with me. Each and every day. It's harder, because I can't see her, but I can feel her. She has visited me in dreams, talked to me and told me she is alright, and that she loves me. I know that your dad and her are watching over us. You haven't truly lost your father, he's still with you. |

| I'm really sorry to hear about the tragedy to your dad. Sounds like your dad was a great man, you were very lucky not all dads actually care about there kids. You can try to keep memories alive by looking at pictures/videos of you and your dad. Remember your dad is in a better place, looking down at you hoping that you will remain the same as you, when when he left. You asked "why did it happen to him", there isn't a reason why it happened to him. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was your best friend you said in your topic, but i know he was a great dad. I'm not sure what i would do if i lost my dad, or any loved one for that matter. Try to think how your dad would want you to keep living to the fullest, and once your time comes (hopefully it won't be any time soon) you will see your dad. That is depending on your religious beliefs of course. Hope you get through this rough time. |

I'm very sorry that happened to yoru Dad. I'd be very proud of a daughter like you and I'm certain he was proud of you. You can't bring him back into your life but you can honour him in the way you grow up to adulthood.
I agreez |
