They SHOULD get help, cause it might actually work for them. I am just telling it how it is.

It just sounded to me as if you were scoffing at the notion of anyone seeking help. I apologize if I've misunderstood, but it certainly came off as such.
It took me years, while still fully in a depression, to find a therapist that I liked and trusted, but it is not an impossible task. Depression is a far more deeply dimensional than many people will understand, but it is not at all impossible to end. There is a very good chance that the depression experienced by your friend is either coupled by, or caused by various other mental ailments. This doesn't label anyone as being "crazy," but Depression is very often bred from other illnesses.
I was not looking for an argument, but the air of dissuasion I felt from your post was something I felt deserved a response. As I said, I apologize if I misunderstood what you were trying to say.
As I said prior to this, the OP should place pressure on the wounds and elevate them gently above her heart (laying down flat and stacking a few pillows underneath should suffice), effectively lessening the blood pressure in her legs and allowing a greater chance for the cuts to clot efficiently.

I've been in therapy for six years. Of course it's not going to get better immediately. It takes time and for most of us we deal with it all our lives. So no, it's not a quick fix but it's a push in the right direction. You have to WANT to get better bad enough that you make a huge effort. And it is a huge effort. So thanks for AGAIN assuming that I was insulting her and calling her crazy and then acting like getting over it is easy. Perhaps you just want something to argue about. Well maybe you should word things better. Your first post sounded rude and judgemental. And I also know what it's like, I've been depressed and self harming since I can even remember. I've read so much about this stuff it's swimming round in my head all day. I also know it's possible to overcome it yourself. And that is something I'd rather do than sit explaining myself to someone who doesn't even care as long as they are getting paid.

I've never had a therapist who didn't care just because they were getting paid. In fact, I've only had one who gets paid. My last therapist worked for volunteer program and I had her for three years. The one I have now doesn't make near as much as most. He only makes around $30 while the one down the street makes $150.
I'm sure there are some out there who do that, but they don't last very long.

OP: If the wounds do not stop bleeding soon, go to the doctor. You may not have cut deeply or done anything that you may consider entirely drastic, but it is not worth losing a serious amount of blood. Place pressure on everything, through the bandages, and gently elevate your legs above your heart. This should stop or slow the bleeding. If it does not slow or stop entirely, seek immediate medical attention.
Once you open up to your therapist, it's a lot easier. In fact...you don't really notice shit till you open up.

Cutting is a way to let anger out. One of the many fucking ways but it's so damn popular, the majority of people only do it because they read or heard about it. Out of all the self mutilation techniques, cutting is the most pointless. Biting, scratching, assault, none of that is even MENTIONED

I fully agree with you. It is a way to let out anger and it unfortunately is a way to get attention. After I finished doing it I would feel even shittier because I just wasted half the goddamn day doing what?
This.
Why cut and then NOT expect them to bleed, seriously? It's just like nicking your leg when you shave, takes forever to stop.
Don't be so ignorant next time? I mean, really, where did it get you? What good did it do?
