I had a revelation.  When I get bored and I am alone I start to think to far.  I get depressed, if I am alone for a few months.  I often got depressed in summer when I had few friends.  When I made a bunch more I became fine.  How do you make sure this never happens again

Keep active.
Arrange to meet up with friends, go out for walks or bikerides with friends or just on  your own, set yourself things to do like art, music, reading, writing, sports, anything that will keep you moving and occupied.
You normally drift from friends if you dont keep in contact, so get the numbers of people that you want to keep in touch with over summer and other holidays, and contact them regularly.
Hope this helped.
