I was raped a few years ago and still haven't gotten over it. My therapist has suggested that I stat to write about it. I#m a good writer, I enjoy writing. so she asked me to write down my feelings, try to tell it like a novel, ask myself questions, and get some answers.

One of my primary questions is, "What was he thinking?"

Does anyone have any ideas?

Edit: also, what makes them so aggressive?

I was raped by my then boyfriend. and he had always been violent-

Who knows. Perhaps in that moment something takes over and all they can think of is getting what they need and being done with it. I was raped, quite violently, a while back and I know the person who did it. I have absolutely no idea what made him do it or what the fuck he was thinking. Was it an impulse action? When he asked to walk me home had he already planned what he was going to do?

I honestly don't know, but all that makes any sense to me is that it isn't logical and the agression and whatnot comes from needing to do it. I really don't know though. I don't think anyone could understand, to be honest, and I personally hate to speculate.

I hope doing what your counselor has suggested helps somewhat.

Edit: Although, perhaps it's also important to note that you might never understand why he did it or what was going through his head at the time. I hate that so many questions come as a result of something like this... so many questions with so few answers.

They don't care about your feelings. They see you as a challenge and in most cases, don't see it as doing anything wrong.

Some even think they're doing you a favor.

Usually have no respect for women at all and view you as meat, or they'd think they're entitled to have any women they want.

im glad youre trying to understand this though because the best way to be able to get past at least some of the feelings is to understand why it happened

i never understood y someone would rape a child. what do they have that you want. the only thing i could think of is their still pure. but they havent matured yet....what pleasure do you get!!

Usually people who do that kind of shit have been abused themselves, so they have some kind of impulse to have power over others or to be abusive. From what I've noticed it seems like most are desperate and very angry and don't really know how to respect another human being.

You probably shouldn't be asking what he was thinking, the question you should ask is probably whether he was thinking at all.

It's the thrill of dominating someone completely, for most rapists, that motivates them to do what they do. Most of them are sadists, power-freaks etc. Quite frequently, rapists are often only that way because they were abused themselves.
Good luck.
