No honey, it wont. I've gone since October 17 of this year, and before that it was May 10, and before that it was December 26..... I wish it would go away, but it will be with you forever. Take pride in the times you don't have to cut, but don't dwell on when you give in- because it will just start eating away at you. Right now, you need to convince yourself that you've been doing very well, and you just had a little slip. Start the "days sober" over again, and move on in a positive direction. I always allow myself to think about doing it-- I go through the motions in my mind... and sometimes that's enough. I have to try and let it be enough for me. I know you can get through this... just don't let one little slip get you down. Be proud of the progress you've made.

Self harm addictions are really hard to break; the only way you can stop, really, is trying to distract yourself.

I've been there and done that! Once you completely stop you won't have that urge, but sometimes you'll always have it when your under a lot of stress. I've been in really stressful times and I cut once or twice and went right back in to it again. Its hard to do it on your own, but it is possible. Good luck and if you ever need to talk to someone I'm here.

eventually the urge will go away. All urges do and you just have to find the right way to handle it. Try writing poetry or just writing your thoughts down in a journal. last you could try to take up painting. All of these are great ways to release pain and not cut. Writing poetry is one of the best ways to release your pain and anger. I know it helps me and the best thing about poetry is you can write about whatever you want. Poetry has helped me through some rough times when I have just wanted to cut. If poetry is not your thing try writing your thoughts down in a journal and that way only you can look at it. This is also a wonderful way to release anger. The good thing about writing in a journal you can take it with you anywhere you go and you can just pull it out and write down your thoughts when you feel the urge to cut. Lastly what you could do is paint. painting is a wonderful way to release pain and hurt. There is no rules for painting. This can also become a hobby if you find out you like it. The best thing about this is you don't have to paint a picture you can just paint your emotions. Keep these tips in mind and you should not have any more urges to cut. Remember when you feel the urge to cut do something else instead. Write poetry,or writein a journal or just pant.
