im being treated for depression
but mainly ive been having these mood swings where i get really, really hyper and crazy, and then i want to go kill myself, and the meds aren't helping with that.

That sounds like the sort of side-effects that are only very rare and should be checked out.
Take a look at the booklet that comes with the medication inside the box and see what it says about side effects, show it to your mum and ask her to make you an appointment with the person who prescribed lexapro for you as soon as possible.

ive only been taking it for...9 days...is that enough to conclude that its not helping?! my mom keeps telling me to 'try it'

If its been giving you significant suicidal thoughts, stop taking it.
If you KNOW that you can handle them for absolutely definite, keep taking them and still arrange to see the person who prescribed them to you ASAP and explain. No one here is qualified to prescribe medicine and therefore no one here can tell you whats wrong.
My prozac gave me suicidal thoughts but i am currently controlling them. What other side effects are you experiencing?

depression! and insomnia (which ive had before), stomachache all the time, headaches, diarrhea, and i start sweating a lot from just sitting around which is weird (and gross?!)

Aren't they the sorts of things that its supposed to be treating? (the depression in particular)
Sweating and stomach upsets are generally and unfortunately a given when on antidepressants (i know they feeling- they suck).
SSRI medications such as prozac and lexapro are supposed to take between 3 weeks to 3 months to be fully working and effective, so your depression and suicidal thoughts might have been there all along, just the medication hasnt started working yet.

Can i ask if you are being treated for depression or anxiety, because it can be used to both?

Stop taking it and go and see the person who prescribed it to you ASAP.
No, never discontinue usage without first consulting a doctor. It might make things worse if the person has been taking them for a while.

OP: Go get an appointment with your doctor and see them as soon as possible. They should be able to transition you over to some other anti-depressant that doesn't have such effects on you.

Thats not what the leaflet in my prozac pack said :s
