When your life has fallen apart and the only outcome you see that is the best way out is to kill yourself, most people go for it. I know, I have tried it. I still want to try it again but I also have a bright future which I would screw up by doing so. It is hard to change your mind when you have it set on dying even if that is the worst way to go. I know for a fact that at times people do help but then they can also make it worse. What hope is there left when the mind is set and the rest of you is just waiting for one more thing to push you over the edge to give you a true reason for what you are going to do? I have no clue but that is what I am waiting for but I do not want that to happen. I want to be happy. I do not want the final straw to be pulled and I do something stupid. I know this is sort of point less but can any one help?

I know that but it is all confusing. It helps when I talk to others though.

There's really not a lot other people can do for you if you feel this desperate except to offer you someone to listen and advise you to contact one of the many helplines for suicidal people. They have trained advisors who can help you talk through your problems and maybe find some light at the end of the tunnel. However don't underestimate the power of a good friend or someone to talk to either. Sometimes it  helps to just vent your problems even if it's only a pressure release for a short while and things come flooding back to you later. Look to the things you can do in the short term - focus on the here and now and let tomorrow or next week take care of itself. For now focus on this moment in time, this minute, this hour, and what you need to get through that. Think about that you can do to keep yourself safe and occupied for another minute of your tie or another hour, maybe try to think of someone you can talk to (you can always PM me) and just concentrate on that small amount of time. Then when the next hour comes you can think about it when it gets here. You don't have to take on the whole of life at once. You don't even have to take on a whole day at once. Just focus on the now. Try and find whatever support mechanisms you can - whether it's going for a run or talking to someone, watching movies or reading to get you through each hour and just hang in there until things start to look better, even if you have a hard time believing they will.

When life gets shitty and you feel that the feelings are coming on, it's time that you think of it. You have a bright future and letting everything go for this single straw that can be fixed or passed on would be just horrible.

Don't offer yourself a permanent solution for a temporary problem.

Well, you said yourself you have a bright future; why ruin it? Think of everything you might be able to accomplish and run with it. "Setting your mind" on dying will not allow you to do that.

You also said you want to be happy. Now tell me; can you achieve happiness by killing yourself? Of course not. Keep pushing yourself through whatever hard times you are going through. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

thanks.

Any time.
