I lost my mom 2 months ago to cancer, it was a long and hard process, and watching her suffer through it was really guitwrenching and heartbreaking. She was my best friend and understood me the best of anyone, and now that she is gone I feel like I am losing it all. I am having anxiety attacks on nearly a daily basis, even at work, I went to work finally to see if it would help me get my mind off things, and it did for a while, but they have crept back up in it and I have these attacks at work. I feel so lost without my mother, and tomorrow is my bday, but it wont be the same without her. She spent 32 days in the hospital after I woke up on march 16th and found her not breathing and after that she seemed to get better for a while, and then she started having sweeling problems and got weaker and thats when we found out her cancer had returned, she had been clear of it from december 07 to then. I am just at a loss right now and I really need some help to cope.

Hi CrimsonTide,

I'm brand new here, just joined and saw your post. I'm so sorry to hear not only about your loss, but what you had to go through leading up to it. I'm in my fourth year of uni now, but lost my mum to cancer just a few months before I started my first year. Similar kind of situation. She'd been given the all clear a few months earlier, but I came home from work to find her very sick. She passed away in hospital about a month later. Please, if you want to talk (about anything), just send me a PM or whatever. Although every situation is different, I can understand where your head might be at the moment - god knows I've been there. Do you have a dad and siblings? If I can give you any advice, it's to lean on each other as much as possible, you're all going through it together. It sounds cliche, but things really do get better with time.
Take time out if you need it. The world will keep turning, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.

Love..

i feel so bad for you. dont worry.. things will get better. it might be slow, it might be painful.. but it will. i promise you. (: remember, your mum is still a part of you. she loved you dearly and she will never properly leave you. maybe you should talk to someone? a friend, a family member? or even a counsellor. ive seen some and they are very helpful.
