Hey wussup all
It's my second year in college and I'm a commuter as well.
I met a few students here and there, but they're most likely acquaintances.
My question is how can I tell if he/she really wants to be my friend, or that I'm being used by them?
Kinda hard to keep up with the flow sometimes....

If you feel that you can talk to them, and they really talk to you, then I don't think it's the case of being used.  Try to get more involved, and who knows, you might find some actual friends there who really want to get to know you.

Just stay true to yourself and do what you do because you're being you.  Being nice to people is good, but don't let them walk all over you.

If you feel as if you are being used, only for their benefit and you would like to know if they are your friends ask them if you can borrow money for coffee or something ($10 or under) if they won't give it to you, then try again in a couple of days, then again (if they won't lend it to you after 3 or 4 tries and you know that they have the money then they are useing you)

Do they ask you to let them copy your homework?
Do they talk trash behind you?
Do they lie, cheat, or steal from you?

Why do you think that you are being used? are you doing something for them without getting anything in return? Or do you think that friendship should always work on barter? why not wait for few days before judging?

aussietom, you couldnt be more right about the mutual using. some really good friendships come of it now that i raelly think about it. i guess its sort of an understanding, benefiting both parties.

There's this girl that talks to me at my uni and I think that she just wants to get in my pants. She is the only girl that I know there though.
I geuss you can never really know for sure.
Use her. Talk about what you want to talk about. Get notes off her if you want to. Stuff like that. That way, it wont really matter if she is using you, cause it's mutual.
Pretty cold I geuss but it works.
