I'm pretty sure I have depression. I don't want to go through alot of hassle and see a therapist, I feel if I have the medicine then I will be fine. Is there a procedure you have to go through in order for you to get the pill or can you just go to a doctor and they'll perscribe them for you?

where you live will have an effect of how you obtaining yor medication. In canada you can either talk to a doctor and decribe waht you are feeling or you can see a therapist and they will diganose depression and write you a perscription. If you don't want to you go and talk to a therapist then go and see your doctor or see a mediclinic.

Meds is only going to help with very little of the depression.  A therapist could help you much more with it, by teaching you how to deal with it and so forth.

Go to a physicatris (sp?) you take a survey, you talk...and you start.

Yep.  You'll get referred to a psychiatrist probably.  Psychologists are psychiatrists who cannot prescribe pills in case you were wondering the difference.  Both are therapists though.

So all I have to do is go to my doctor and say I'm depressed, then he'll ask me some questions and then i'll get the perscription?

i'm guessing that he'll have you see a therapist, because therapists are actually trained to diagnose depression.

You need to see a therapist.  SOmetimes they can just do a few appointments now and then and you will save money on pillz.

You need a prescription for those kinds of things, so yes you have to see some kind of doctor.

You can't just self diagnose yourself.

Saralita Posted at 8:00 pm on Jan. 28, 2007
yeah, they have to diagnose you first in order to get a perscription. and fyi, EVEROYNE is "pretty sure" that they have depression, but they usually don't, they're just sad with life.
