| Just say hello to the closest person near you. Sometimes a complete stranger is nice. Most college kids are nice, just trying to get their education. Bored waiting between classes. Or you could try some social networking sites, makes breaking the ice easier. |

and it doesnt help that across the fucking table from me is this girl making out with her bf..i feel like telling them to go get a fucking room.
People will want to meet you less if you do that. You should just go to the local starbucks or something like that, they are great places to meet people. |

| Well, being on livewire won't help any :P. Everyone in your program is in class? That always sucks. Well, like others said, you could always go with a club or something, and that way you'll meet more people, probably one's that have some similar interests if you join in a club or other activity. That'll give you smething to talk about too, if you just have trouble starting up a conversation. Anyway, good luck with it! When you get a chance, talk to someone new, I guess. Whether it be in one of your classes, or something. It's worth a shot. Oh, and others have said, it doesn't make you a loser. Like Shyloh said, most people will assume you're just doing work. And just because you don't always have someone to hang out with during a break or something doesn't mean you're a loser... personally, I like having breaks to myself, lol. |

compliment/ask a question to someone that sits near you surely you have friends there from old schools that you can hang with sitting there with a laptop wont get your friends, it will put people off coming up to talk to you.. instead, try joining aby clubs your schooll has so you can find people with the same interests as you sorry but thats all i got.. good luck |

| So? It's college, not high school. You're supposed to be independent. Just sit there and look busy, I bet people aren't assuming you're a loser like you think they are. And I doubt you're the only person by yourself. |

| sometimes we all feel like were alone, but as soon as your with your friends again, you wont feel that way. and as far as other people go, i dont think they really care as much as you may think, i know i overly eggagerate how other people percieve me in my head, but in all actuality, they probably just think your doing homework or something :) so cheer up :-D |
