less intelligent than the masses....another oxymoron that makes me lol

I meant the masses at my Uni.....rather than the general masses.

Political Science isn't that much of an easy major over here. I guess it's just different in the US.

well it tries to be scientific but you know how fucked up and stupid politics is

anything can look scientific but actually being scientific is a different thing

anyway a lot of lazy asses pick pol sci as their major because they are lazy, not too many people actually take it seriously

Thats a lot different to what I've seen. Everyone in my classes are hardcore politics fans....its intimidating sometimes for me who is less intelligent than the masses.

its not 'science' though even if its fun

and philosophyi s cool but unfortunately society is too stupid to grant it any merit in the job world

It can be classed as science especially comparative. Comparative politics uses set methods and statistics to analyse different systems...in that way it's a very scientific study. And a politics degree is very much like and English or History degree with regards to jobs. I mean you can pretty much do anything. My politics alumni at my University work in the foreign office, parliament are MP's around the country, journalists some work with the UN, some have unrelated jobs in PR and places in Media such as the BBC etc etc. Personally I want to go into the theatre. It is seen as a good solid academic degree over here with many job prospects.

'political science' is an oxymoron

anyway the class is pretty much a joke

I do it as a degree, well Political Science/Philosiphy and it's pretty heavy stuff for the most part. We get more essays and reading then my friends doing other courses. Over here it's seen as a very respectable degree as well..but it might be different in the USA. Next year for instance as part of my degree I am taking

Comparative Politics of the Middle East
International Security
Modern Political Thought
British Political Systems

So yeah a lot of variety as well.

its not really a class, there are a lot of different options within it

I was a Poli Sci. Minor.

You kind of a get a mixed bag. The conspiracy theorist, the diplomat, the Margret Thatcher, the Libretarian, the James Dobson and the Social reformer. It makes class interesting.
