Well.. I'm a girl who would be a geology major if it was offered at my school. Most geology majors at other schools that I know of are women. Archaeology at my school is ALL women. Just an fyi.

I know over the past couple of weeks you have been looking at choices which you have to make in life well now is just the same as others. You rang up th police for advice and they seem to think you won't have much of a chance at 18, so maybe take that into consideration when making a decision about what you want to do. About university, think you will have a degree at the end of it and learnt something. You never know you might enjoy doing it because obviously you can't tell until you have done something as to whether or not it's the thing for you. I personally think you should think about the decision which you are going to make. If you do the degree you have a qualification to fall back on if things don't seem to work out in other areas of your life, so it's always handy to have. However just because this lady seems to think you won't have a chance at 18 doesn't mean you shouldn't try and if you don't, then you don't have to do the uni option either you could maybe do something else which you want to do. It's all about evaluating areas of your life to see the best outcome. You might be shocked you might enjoy looking at rocks, who knows until you try!

Id take it. The experiences you go thru living away with students is AMAZING and you can still follow thru with the police at 21 like they say It sounds a win win situation really And of course there will be girls there!

If they're offering it for free then why not? Plus, you'd be going to earn the degree not flirt with nerdy girls. I think the experience would be good. Might as well kill some time doing something productive while you wait to join police force, right?

it's a degree, whether its full of nerds or not... if its the only one you've been offered then take it, it's better than nothing and it'll help you. you might even decide you wanna do something else as a career when you're doing it because you like it so much.
