So right now I'm pursuing an honors specialization (bachelor's) degree in sociology at a Canadian university. I'm in third year, and I'm kind of scared considering that I just have 1 year left after this year. I've heard for a lot of grad schools that you've got to graduate with an honors degree, when all the marks for your last 2 years of university are averaged together. For the school I go to now, I need a minimum of 78% to even be considered there. Right now, I have a 75% average in my first semester, third year courses. What happens if I don't get into grad school - are there job options available for anyone directly out of university with a degree in sociology?

I was thinking a good backup plan would be to apply to teacher's college, and then after completing teacher's college I could be a high school teacher. However, I heard job options are scarce at high schools for those who graduate from teacher's college. What should I do??

I suggest get a masters, from there you can teach or go into Social Services (I think.)
