For those who are current college students: Is it a bad thing that some schools have kept me waiting this close to the deadline? (The deadline is april 1st)

depends on the school and number of applicants but sometimes big packages come and thats good!

it all depends on the schools. the ones with rolling admissions will tend to notify as they receive apps, while others will mass send out on certain dates. you should be fine :)

I got mine fast.
eyeswideclosed Posted at 2:46 pm on Mar. 24, 2009
Nope. ALthough I got my acceptance letters really fast, I know of people who got them REALLY late. If you're worried, try calling the admission office in the school you're mostly interested about and asking them about it.

The Intent to register period STARTS April 1 and ENDS May 1.

I think NYU is taking their sweet time.

It might mean you are of the average level and they are waiting to see what their wait-list make-up could be before you receive your letter back. It was almost graduation before I received my acceptance letter from one of the colleges I sent applications to. By then I had already sent back an acceptance to another school to attend.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, but a back-up in hand is probably a good idea.

EDIT:  It also depends on how long ago you sent it in.
