Ok so all I can say is this year has been extremely rough. I go to a great, competitive private school however this year was a bit of a challenge as far as grades are concerned. I took on too demanding of a schedule and my grades and GPA suffered tremendously. I actually went from a 3.4 unweighted to a 2.8 unweighted. I had never brought home such low grades consecutively and it was a very discouraging and shocking time for me. Still though, going to the school that I do it is still my hope and an expectation of my mother's that I could get into an Ivy League University or one at the same caliber (i.e. Vanderbilt, Emory). I do have two more years left and have chosen a schedule that I know that I can take on and do well with. Do I still have a chance though!? It's really competitive and I know it only gets worse...

Thanks.

And keep up your extracurrliculars like clubs, sports, drama, etc.  Also community service hours if your school requires them. Do more than required, as private colleges like that, too.
