| swimming wont build muscle. it will just define your already existing muscle. if you wannt build muscle while swimming focus on just pulling drils. maybe wear a weight belt. because honestly, unless your swimming 10,000 yards a day( i guarantee you your not) you own tbuild muscle |

| Lifting shouldn't be something you have to force yourself to do. There are many ways to toning other than lifting. Maybe try swimming with some light weights attached, and focus on speed rather than endurance. |

| If you're rotating your workout and not doing the same lifts every week (you shouldn't because your body becomes used to the lift) it will feel far less repetitive. If your only looking for a little tone and enjoy swimming, I'd stick to the swimming, although you really should give lifting a chance. |

| i'd stick with the swimming because you enjoy it and it does tone the whole body. you could also look into pilates for toning your arms. |

| Lift if you want big muscles. Swimming stretches your muscles out, so you may not want that. |
