Well basically I decided to start B-ball again after a 2year gap of exams, I was suprised I still remembered lay-ups and the whatnot. My main strengths were pressure, intercepting adn defense (never tried to shoot much) but I wasn't chosen for the team in a match today, i made reserve and although 2 of the girls dropped out one girl was replaced by name of another and the other reserve sneaked in wihtout me realising it, kinda depressing considering I wanted to play.

So yeah, any tips on how to impress the coach and prove me for the team? xxx

Score like 20 baskets a game. That should do it.

No seriously - run, get open, pass WELL, and shoot. You can't go wrong with shooting.

I don't play basketball and definitely don't encourage girls playing a mans sport...j/k, I think it's awesome pursuit for women.

Anyway, to answer your question, if you really aren't a talented player...make yourself invaluable. Work doubly hard, bust your ass in EVERY drill, even the little ones, cuz trust me, that's where coaches hone in on who they like. And remember, it's a fun ass game to play...don't get stressed out about all the practices and where you are on the depth chart. Play the game like it's your first time and you'll always have fun playing your best game. Good luck girlfriend and keep doing your squats so I can stare at your basketball bouncing up and down the court.

Set screens, hustle, chase down loose balls hut open shots, play tough D, make smart passes, take care of the basketball, force the tempo, make smart passes, hit tough shots, be a leader, be intense, be in great physical shape, get stornger, hit the boards, hit the playbook......

That's a start anyways....
