| I work nights to pay for school because no one else pays for me to go. i have to do physical therapy 5 days a week for my back because of a car accident in december. i am taking 17 credit hours and i am writing an article. IF I WANT TO SLEEP IN CLASS THAT IS MY CHOICE. lay the fuck off. seriously, get a hobby. |

| What do they make hoodies for if nothing more than a head cover while you sleep in class? *lol* At least that would help block out any sounds... My reasons for sleeping in class: - held three jobs :( - partied the night before... - content was boring and the professor was monotone |

| My friend sleeps during our Theatre History class and it annoys the holy hell out of me. He says that its because he works till 1 am and doesn't get much sleep...and has his first class at 8 am. I don't see why his job can't work around his schedule, or why he just doesn't drop a class...because he has more than enough credit hours...he's wasting his money on that class because he might fail because he doesn't know whats going on. |

| I like to listen to my professor with my eyes closed and head down sometimes. It helps me picture things in my mind easier. |

| Heh, well...if you show up you don't get docked. At my school, if you're absent a certain number of times you drop a letter grade and then some. So, if you go to class, letter grade is still intact despite being asleep, and most of my professors are understand. They were the ones who decided that assigning 100 pages of boring text, plus three ten pages papers and two paintings and one photo portfolio would be a good thing to assign over the weekend. I'm not one to snore or really sleep in class although my head gets heavy, and my eyes go wonky and stuff. But if you want me to get a good nights sleep...bring it up with my profs. |

im guessing they dont go on purpose to fall asleep there, they probably are too tired from the work so they just fall asleep
He has a good point. I know plenty of extremely intelligent people who have nodded off a few times here and there, and it's not because they don't want to learn. I'm up until 2am or later everynight because I have so much homework. I start after dinner at 6 and go straight until midnight. Can't blame students for being tired, especially during exams or hell weeks. |

| I take a couple apples when I have early classes, or boring classes. apples have tons of natural sugar and it's way better than coffee or energy drinks to keep you awake. but even then, sometimes it's a real struggle. but if I know I'm not gonna make it through without passing out, I do stay home, I hate to do that though. soo I should be getting to bed now.. |

I do not understand why students attend class if you are just going to sleep. Stay home and sleep if you are tierd. stop wasting your teachers, and your peers time. It's annoying to listen to hear that guy next to you snoring in your ear.
Well...sometimes I fall asleep for 5 minutes in class because it is sometimes difficult to sleep with my jackass roommate in the room. God I hate him. Dumb as a brick, total jerk, the maturity of a 10 year old, and completely weird. |

| I agree that it's stupid, but if people want to waste their own time, let them. What really bothers me is when people fall asleep in class and then later ask for notes, or, the one time they actually cant make it to class, they flip out as if it's somehow different than them sleeping through it. I, for one, just don't ever go to class. Solves the problem pretty effectively, I must say. |

| I've never had anybody in my college classes fall asleep during class. It happened in high school, never college. |

No I am not a teacher but when a kid is snoozing in class and is there on a free ride wasting my tax dollars to me there is something wrong with that. I am sorry I am trying to learn, I am just as tierd as the next kid but I still keep my ass up drive an hour to school come home and go to work. So to me sleeping students there is no excuse.
Well if he sisnt learning anything then he will fail out and your tax dollars will stop being wasted on him. If he can sleep and still do well enough in school to get a free ride then props to him. |

| They don't get enough sleep at night and also the professor is boring to listen to. I have a friend who fell asleep in his biology class because the professor is boring. Some kids were in my zoology class this past week but I never did that. Also professors don't care if students do sleep in there class because it supposedly doesn't affect how the teacher is. It does matter though because if all the students fail a class then it shows that the professor can't teach. I know how that is because my zoology professor sucks. She talks about stuff that doesn't have to do with the class and she is just bad at teaching. Hopefully she will retire soon because she looks like she is in her 50's or 60' maybe. |
