k so i am leaving for college in a few weeks and the college has this apartment building that they built as one of their resident halls. they are 2 bedroom one bathroom, kitchen and living room and you share it wiht 3 other people. So me and one of my best friends are gonna share one room, and then we are sharing this apartment wtih 2 other girls who know each other but don't know us. we are going to colorado school of mines which is kinda a "dorky" school i guess. i wouldn't call me or kate (my friend) dorks or anything, we are just smart and like the campus. the two chicks we are sharing wtih are volleyball players there one voleyball scholarships. we were at this dinner thing that alumni of CSM hosted for the kids in my town leaving and we met this chick who plays volleyball with our roomates. we found one of our roomates profiles on myspace, and i guess this girl we met was telling our roomates about us, and it was really mean stuff, talking all sorts of shit about us (this is a girl who talked to us for about 5 minutes at this dinner) so now our roomates think we are total losers and don't even want to give us a chance....they moved in yesterday cuz of volleyball, we move in in a few weeks....help!! what do we do? we have to live with them for a year and they already don't like us

Perhaps you should try talking to them and just being yourself. If they don't like you it's their loss.

not everyone likes everyone else.  understand that.

i do understand that.......what i don't understand is why they judge us and hate us before they have even met us.... i am not even trying to make them like us i just don't quite know how to deal wtih living with 2 people who hate you before they've even seen you for a year

They judge you because most people are judgemental assholes. It's a fact of life.

Be yourself. If they don't like you...who cares? You have to learn soemthing...not everyone is going to like you. Get over it and move on.

Hmm I'd talk to them. Do nice things for them. Be an all around happy person! Tell them that what that girl said was untrue. Try to be the bigger person.
