To ensure that she will love her ring try to get an idea of what she likes by looking at the style of her other jewelry. You could also ask her close friends/ family for advice or take them with you. Of course if you take her a store and let her pick it out, the element of total surprise is gone but a)You KNOW she'll love it, b) You can do the sizing right then and c) She can try on diff. diamond cuts to be sure they suit her hand. Then you can still surprise her with WHEN your going to propose. Now no matter what ring you give her she will love it for the fact that you gave it to her and what it means, but you should remember that it is going to be on her hand and she'll want to wear it all the time so she should feel proud of it. Also don't listen to the diamond commercials, spend only what you can afford.
thanks, the thing is, she doesn't like diamonds, and she loves pearls, that's why I was thinking a pearl. I am not going to propose to her for a while, but on our 1 year, which is in March, I am going to potentially get her a promise ring, at least that is what I am thinking as of now. |

| It's pretty, but it's a lot of money! I'm sure you can find something that's just as nice for less money. It's the thought, not the cost remember. |

| It's not about what we think, as you know what she likes. I do think this is beautiful though, and you have to think of HER kind of ring not what we think. You have to look at rings and think which one you are drawn to most and know that she will just LOVE! |

| I think it's really pretty. You better be sure about this girl {and she better be sure about you} before you spend all of that money. |
