I've always wondered that. Not that I'm thinking about joining one or anything

Most of the forms of initiation are traditions. When your pledging, people don't really want to be viewed as the wuss or wimp of the group. because what frat wants a wimp? and reporting the traditions is just asking for more trouble. and besides when you get it you'll be making the new pledges do the same exact things you had to do. As for the hazing thing who cares if its illegal thats dumb to think making it illegal will do anything. When it comes down to it and you are hazed that means you want to be in so bad you are not going to tell. So unless something goes wrong it would be pretty quite and no one would know Ladybird Posted at 11:53 pm on Oct. 16, 2008 they can be. my boyfriend had some horror strories. it wasn't his faternity nesserarly, they had him steal stuff, tresspas, but his sister sority was AWFUL. Sounded like they beat them up.... so no doubt their still out there. It's meant to be a bonding experience, and it is. :) And as others have mentioned, hazing is against rules.
