I love the ocean, so much. I can't imagine life without seeing it at least once a year. but I do work at a restaurant. spring break is two months away. if I let my boss know ahead of time, would it normally be a problem if it were any boss? I never take a personal day off, nor ever plan to unless it is needed. I haven't yet, probably never will.
also, my dad might go for a day. where I live, there's absolutely nothing to do. I thought, if I invite my dad down for a day (he's very busy, but he'll make time for at least one day), we could spend the day in south padre island, just the two of us, and have some real fun going to fancy restaurants, and events. I haven't seen him for a total of 11 years, and we just agreed to spend more time together, since he was never there. if I told my boss this, do you think he'd understand?
preferred that people with jobs to answer.
and i hope every thing works out, you get your time off and you have a good time with your dad!
im not in america so sorta unsure of "spring break" or how busy it then gets.....
but, im guessing its just like our school holidays....
i too work in hospitality, and i know, we are the people who have to work while every one else is out having fun... it sucks, but someones gotta do it....
so yeah, give him plenty of notice, tell him you wanna spend some time with your dad, he will understand...
also, spring break is sorta a good time anyway, coz it means he can get juniors in to work cos they will be on school holidays as well, and they cheaper to pay!
