I don't know what happened to me today...I just can't stop crying right now.

So the story is, that I graduated high school two years ago. I wasted some time, did a semester of one program.  I hated it, so I switched. I'm halfway through my second semester of this program...and I hate it too. I'm overloaded with work, I haven't slept properly in weeks, I'm so stressed out I don't eat half the time..and I'm falling behind in some classes because I'm focusing so much on the other ones. I had a test tonight, and in the middle of it I got so frustrated I got up and left. I really just want to drop out completley and take a year off. I don't know what to do.

Take time off . . May it be 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 1 day or 1 hour.

Use this off time to clear everything out - Don't even think off touching any of your work . . Get a drink, take a deep breath and relax for this time. Use it to plan your activies, one at a time, which ones are more important first.

I struggled with my Final Project last semester - it was demanding like 48 hours a day, and I had to handle clubs, outings, I virtually broke down several times . . but onc eI learned to take small bits of time to clear my head, it was much better.

The best way is for you to let it out to a close friend. While handling the number of activities is an issue as well, I personally feel that you are more emotionally affected rather than physically . . . talk to somebody who understands you  . . take time out, reset your focus, and things woulod be much better. When the strss builds up again, force yourself to let eveyrthing go just for a while to let the steam out . .

You should have a word with your tutors, explain what you've explained in this topic and they should be sympathetic and understanding and help you. Maybe they could give you more of their time to explain and help with the tasks they've set you in their lesson, and/or give you a longer time to have your essays/homework completed for.

If you really feel you can't cope then you should still explain the situation to your tutors, see what they advise, and make your own mind up as to whether you want to take a year off. But, taking a year off could go one of two ways. Either you'll get yourself together and be more prepared and organized for when you go back to school. Or, once you go back you may find you can't get back into the swing of things and you could start to find yourself wishing you hadn't taken a year out afterall.

You need to have a serious think about what you want to do. But your health and how you feel is way more important than school.

Maybe you could take a leave of absence or something? I wanted/want to but my Dad would flip out... You'd have three semesters to go back I think. Some schools may have a different time limit though, I'm not sure.

You should change your major ASAP if you don't like it. Just go back to being undecided.

If I were you, I would talk to my professors, see if there's any way that you can get help with your classes. See if there's any way you can make up stuff, and catch up on your grades.

But if you are so stressed that it's affecting your sleeping pattern and eating, than maybe taking a year off is what you need. I for one am taking a year off or at least a semester, because last year was WAY TOO, well, complicated and full of stress. I had two jobs, on top of going to school full time, on top of homework, volunteer work and barely any relaxation time. I almost went crazy.
It got to the point where I was so easily frustrated, especially at work, that I would just randomly be pissed off all the time, because I let the stress get to me. I seriously well work the past year has been a learning experience, because I work in college cafeteria, and college students are very rude and dont know how to pick up after themselves, and the people I work with are just flat out stupid and lazy.
SO. This year, I'm gonna take it easy, relax, and hopefully work things out so when I go back to college, I'm not so frustrated.

Calm down.. and just breath in and breath out. Why don't you listen to music that will cool you down. Or get a 10 - 15 mins break from your study until your all fine and calm.

What you should do is eat a proper meal, get a good nights rest and reevaluate your situation.
