There is tons of stuff that they believe that have no proof for them! For example, lets take the laws of physics. You know they are mostly true. But, do you have proof? No! You're believing other people who supposedly found proof! Then why can't you believe in God. I would rather believe that an omnipotent being is correct than a Physicist! Atheists just don't believe in God because they don't understand it! They don't understand the concept of God or why God does things. If I could understand God, he wouldn't be God then would he? Plus, he promises that all will be revealed when we get to heaven. Why can't atheists just learn to trust?

Or any other 'pagan' beliefs? Or any other ancient religions? Or Islam? Or Hinduism? Or Buddhism? Confucianism? Taoism? Judaism? Why don't you believe in some of those religions? Do you maybe 'not understand them'? Or is it just that you were not brought up with belief in those religions, so now you find them all false. Personally, if I chose which religion to believe in, I'd go with the oldest one, because it was at least the first one with the whole religious concept. While specific individuals may've codified and described physical laws, they are not the only people capable of providing proof for their validity. It's not like prophecy. If God had told atheists that, it'd be a sure bet they would trust him. The problem is that God has never said anything to anyone. People claim to talk to him all the time, but they've no proof. I understand it just fine, and I study it to understand it further. i dont believe because there is absolutely no reason for me to do so. it will not effect the way I live my life. Add this to the fact that there is NO evidence for his existence (Your physics example? Yeah, there's at least some evidence pointing to it; Did i dot he exp4eriments myself? No, but multiple credited people have, and you can see the results) other than the Bible. Baram Posted at 1:53 pm on Sep. 18, 2008 The main reason I don't believe in the Christian god is that I feel that the religion has been too warped over thousands of years.  People seem to use the bible as their proof of god, but was the bible written by god?  No, the bible is a compilation of accounts written by a bunch of people over hundreds of years in several different languages which could have been mistranslated very easily.  These documents are only a portion of the documents which actually exist.  Since Christianity was established, it has been manipulated for political or military purposes (Crusades, Inquisition, Great Schism, Protestant massacres, etc.), as well as claiming to be the only way to salvation to be more powerful. Not that I completely reject the idea that there is a god.  I actually feel that there are several things we don't understand, and there could very well be something which is god-like out there, but I do not believe in the god of Christianity.
