Right.  But the spelling was interchangeable with various vowels, and so I dont' know if this 'interchangeable' use of vowels was presented only to discredit the God of today, or if it really was a common thing back then.   Amen is derived from the Hebrew verb "Aman" which has something to do with a "confirmation." That's why many people take the definition of the word as "Let it be so"  - "so be it" - "truly" etc. the word or root amen, certainly means "what is hidden," "what is not seen," "what cannot be seen," and the like, and this fact is proved by scores of examples which may be collected from texts of all periods. Either way, Amen is described as God in Kings I Chapter 1 verse 36 of the old testament.
