That I wear my grandmothers cross more as a fashion thing, than a religious thing.

(Is this wrong) That I wear my grandmothers cross more as a fashion thing, than a religious thing.
The error stems from denoting such a morbid symbol with spirituality.

I don't see a problem. If it does hold some religious meaning, all the better. But I don't see any problem with holding it as special because it was your grandmother's and because it is beautiful.

No...it's fine. I'm sure she'd be watching over you

Well no, shes alive.

Someone's energy can't be with you if they're not dead?  She can watch over you just as well now, and it'll help keep the link between you alive.

Set the cross aside as it has lost all sense in the Western Society we live in.

We must use knowledge as our tool in Understanding.

She isn't wearing it as a tool or a religious icon or something that has inherent meaning by virtue of its crossiness.

She's wearing it because it looks pretty and it was her grandmother's.

Pay attention.

I think it would be safe to say that 90% of the females that were crosses are doing it for fashion not faith.  My rejection of Christianity is not a secret and when I see a girl wit a cross around her neck my first reaction is "What is she hiding about herself?"
Colleen35 Posted at 11:49 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
It's just as valid as any other symbol for a necklace.

I don't think it's a good idea if you do not believe in the meaning behind it.

No, it's vintage.
misssmadejavuu Posted at 11:06 pm on Nov. 30, 2008
I don't think so.
I'm not religious at all, I am agnostic.
But  my grandma gave me a cross, and I wear it when I see her, that's the only time I wear it, to be honest.
