I can't believe only one person mentioned anything about detox.  Simply checking in to a rehab while withdrawing from morphine would be the same thing as withdrawing from morphine at home with the addition of AA meetings one after another.

Before you think about going to rehab, you have to go to detox (especially in the case of alcohol, sleeping pills, and opiates).  That's where they'll give you medicine to ease the withdrawals.  If you go to a good detox center, there will be doctors to check on patients and decide what kind of medication to put you on.  Since you're withdrawing from morphine, I'd imagine they'd give you Librium/Klonopin, a tapering down of opiates (it could be taking slightly less and less morphine each day you're there or more likely it could be receiving an opioid weaker than morphine) and maybe Suboxone.

But make sure you go to a good detox center; I was sent to a really shitty one run by foreigners who didn't speak English or know what they were doing apart from feeding us barbiturates all the time and nothing but.  Christ, that place sucked.

I may be criticised for saying this, but fuck it.  Opiates are a nasty drug to kick.  In my opinion, as an ex heroin addict, you need to seek out a detox center, and possibly rehab.  The decision is ultimately up to you, but opiate habits are not easy to kick.  Maybe even look into a methadone clinic, though I didn't personally like them, you may find them helpful.  If you need someone to talk to about anything, feel free to pm me or im me on my aim.

Hey there,

You're not alone, a lot of people have to deal with drug abuse and you can get help, there is help out there, but it won't come to you, you have to act on it and find it if you want to stop, if you really want to inside, you will have the strength to quit this.

Using drugs can have many side effects as it is such as mood swings, weight loss to a to a bad extent, this will not only effect your life now, as you said, you've had to do bad things for this money, this will effect you later on in life, do you want to carry on doing these bad things all the time so you can get your one hit. Wouldn't you rather get help, so that you never have to worry about ever having to do the dirty deed again

Rehab would be a good place for me to start with, they are qualified to deal with this and will know what to do after the effects start kicking in. These people are trained especially to deal with people trying to kick drug habits, they are there to help you so you're not on your own and you can't relapse into taking morphine again.

When things get hard, DON'T GIVE UP, keep your head up and stay strong. Don't let this take a control over your life, it will take a grip and never let go. Get help before it's too late.

Here is a drug abuse hot-line, it's free if you need it

Best of luck.

Once I'm done with college and am making decent money, I'll take care of you babe.  As much dope as you want.

-sleaze
-dont smoke weed
-want to stop taking drugs, maybe..dunno

I meant morphine, lol.  Heroine would probably be better though at this point since you more than likely have a decent tolerance.

Good luck quitting.

morphine withdrawal is serious business

you should do it in the care of a doctor

cum funnel Posted at 9:25 pm on Jan. 8, 2009
seriously, if you are using morphine, please do not just stop using it
that's a good way to kill yourself
that is something you should ease yourself off of, not just stop cold turkey, too dangerous

but other than that, good luck, i wish i had more advice

Seek professional help then. You'll be much more likely to break the habit with the help of professionals.
