Brett Favres retirement after the 2008 season was seen as a classic, remorseful, beautiful 'way to go out' as he led his relatively young team just out of reach to the Super Bowl, which he has won twice in his career.

But now it seems he wants to come back, as he said in an interview on FOX News with Greta Van Sustren. He wants the Packers to grant him his release form the team so he can go play somewhere else because Green Bay has already stated they want Aaron Rodgers to be the starter this year. Today Favre says he refuses to go back to Green Bay if he isn't a starter, although he thinks Rodgers would "do a fine job."

Some people say that Favre is selfish, is ruining his legendary reputation in Green Bay, and is most of all hurting the Packer's QB Aaron Rodgers, who has been watching Favre form the sidelines for 3 years and now wants to play. Others, including many Packer fans say they understand what Favre is feeling, and want him back in Green Bay. And others yet want Favre to come back to the NFL and play for their team. Is Favre selfish for 'coming out of retirement' at this time, or is it his right to play in Green Bay as a starter this year?

Favre played for the Packers, not the Pats.

I reckon if you choose to retire, if you want to come back you'd better have a lot of support from the fans. Though wanting to come out of retirement so soon is rather in my opinion. Sounds like he can't make up his mind.

Favre is an arrogant, selfish asshole who needs to keep his ass in RETIREMENT and at home.

Yes, Favre is selfish, has ruined any legacy he had and is just causing trouble for GB and Aaron Rodgers
