For those of you who play(ed) contact sports, do you play dirty? Would the people you play against consider you a dirty player? If so, what are some things you did?

I play soccer(or whatever you want to call it) and I had never been a dirty player until my last 2 years of high school when I got moved from mid to center defense(sweeper).

My coach encouraged me to play dirty, to get into the other player's heads. I must say, it made the games a lot more fun, I ended up receiving 8 yellows(1 red) during the season and 11 people got yellows for plays against me.

I've played ice hockey for 12 years, and the last 3 years I played dirtier when I had reason to, like if a player was being a bitch or talking shit, or if I got angry. I kicked a girl in the chest once because she pushed me down for no reason during a game, then proceeded to fall on top of me and try to like, hit me or whatever. Lucky the refs didn't catch it.

i don't play contact sports. but when I'm freestyle skiing, i play dirty. if someones in my way, i cut them off, and lately i haven't even been calling my drop cause if no one else is going to have any park etiquette, then neither am i.

I try not to. Sometimes in the heat of all the action I do end up playing a little rougher than I intend to. A lot also depends on how the opposition treats my team and I.

... i don't really play sports, but when it comes to competitiveness, i do whatever it takes to win. i take full advantage of the rules/situation.

I play rugby. It is FULL contact, I'd say you kind of have to play dirty, it's all about tackle...if you'd consider swearing and yelling as dirty, then I guess yeah, theres a lot of that. lol.

I played hockey for 12 years and for the last four years, I earned more penalty minutes a season than the rest of my team combined.
