We went fishing yesterday, and we could see the black drum swimming around under the bridge, and we couldn't freaking get them to bite.  So we were there probably 5 hours when this old guy pulls up.  It is there for about 30 minutes and catches one.  We help him get it up, and we just get to look at it.  I wanted to catch one so bad.  That things was huge.

For those who don't know, a black drum averages aroun 30-50lbs.  This one was around 40, at over 30 inches long....

We are going back either monday or tuesday to try to get one, now that we know what kind of bait they will bite on.

you should enjoy fishing for the experience and relaxation not jsut the catching

Did I ever say that I didn't enjoy it?  Do you really think I would have sat on a busy bridge, with people flying by at 50+ mph, for over 10 hrs, just for the catch?  That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy catching something as well.  That would have been the biggest edible fish that I have ever caught.

It's all good though.  In 11 days we are going deep sea fishing.  We are going 30+ miles out, and are guaranteed to catch something worth keeping.

I know how to fish.  Believe me.  I am a very good "fisherman".  I was doing the exact same thing as the old guy was actually.  Throwing the bait out, to almost the same spot, putting the rod down, and walking away.

This is a black drum.  Of course, it was only about half the size of this one.
