There was a shock defeat last september when Prescott won by a TKO (Technical Knock Out) against Khan in just 48 seconds. Khan wasnt expected to lose.

Khan has had 19 professional fights, hes only 21, and hes won 18, 14 by TKO, 5 of which were in the first round.

When he won the silver medal in the 2004 Olympics, people stood up in admiration. No one had ever seen such a technically, powerful boxer in the olypics like Khan. And he was only 17.

We're watching him rise, and until September he was expected to get the world lightweight title, eventually, when he fights for it. But now theres a lot of doubt after this fight:

Do you think he'll get the title?

I think so.

He should have stayed amateur for a few more years.
He's got the wrong people coaching him.

no he wont, he has always had his fights specially picked... either people past there prime.. or people that were never really going to be a threat, he finally fought a decent boxer and look what happened, this guy was never really thought to be a threat, he wasnt a big name... thats why khan was expected to beat him...

khan is not a world title worthy boxer... yet anyway, he has tried to rush to the top and you cannot do that and take easy matches all the time. He is way overated, maybe in a few years he might be worthy but that fight will atleast open his eyes.

Well hes only 21. but prescott isnt a nobody (20 wins, 18 by KO)

But Khan is seen to be a better boxer than Prescott, because like everyone marvels he throws great combos and incredibly hard, fast punches. I mean look how much quicker he was than prescott.

umm yeh but did you see that prescott wasnt really fazed by khans "unimaginable" speed, prescott was a much better boxer and had a much stronger punch... either that or khans got a glass jaw

He's still a young boxer but I'm pretty worried about him managing to actually snatch a title, as he's expirienced not only once a big loss but twice. He's been there twice but not done it when it mattered I think he's not ready for it yet, because of that.

He's a great boxer obviously but his head has failed him twice now.. maybe he has thought those both times that he already had won it.. who knows.

Not for a long time yet.

The problem with Khan is that he's been pitted against people that are far less talented than himself. This means that he looks better.

I personally don't think he was ready for that fight. He should have waited and got more experience.
